Start Translating!

Below is a list of our plugins you can contribute to.

First Steps

It’s easy to start translating in your own language, you don’t need any coding skills or special software and you can contribute as little or as much as you’d like. It just requires a few easy steps:

  1. Register an account on wordpress.org if you don’t already have one.
  2. Register or subscribe to this site (Optional)
  3. Start translating!

If you want to contribute on a bigger or more regular basis, apply to be a validator and avoid waiting to have your translations approved.

1. Register a wordpress.org account

Since 2015, plugins and themes hosted on wordpress.org have their own translation project on translate.wordpress.org. That means that to translate most of our plugins, you’d need to head over there and register an account if you don’t already have one. This is not a requirement if you just want to contribute to projects hosted on this site (see step 2).

2. Register or subscribe to this site (Optional)

If you’d like to receive updates via email when we update our plugins with new strings of text requiring translation, please subscribe to our site, you can choose which projects to subscribe to.

Register on our site if you want to translate our plugins that can’t be hosted on wordpress.org, such as Events Manager Pro. Whilst not mandatory, it’s helpful to subscribe on wordpress.org first since the free part of the plugin is hosted there, and then we’ll know who you are there too!

3. Start Translating!

See the links at the top of this page for where each project translation editor is hosted. We also have basic instructions on how to start adding your translations and becoming a translation editor.
